Frequently Asked Questions: PracticalCME PRP and Microneedling Training in Denver
Clear answers on venue, format, faculty, curriculum, credit hours, scope of practice, and the specifics of the hotel-site training model. For the full positioning, see the PRP and Regenerative Aesthetics training hub page.Where is the Denver training venue located?
The PracticalCME Denver PRP and Microneedling training site is located in the Denver metropolitan area, accessible from Denver International Airport (DEN). The specific venue address is announced on the live-dates registration map on the PracticalCME homepage once each session date is confirmed. The site is positioned to serve aesthetic clinicians across Denver, Aurora, Boulder, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Lakewood, and the broader Front Range corridor, with reasonable travel from Wyoming, Nebraska, western Kansas, New Mexico, and Utah. 2027 marks the launch of Denver as a PracticalCME market. What is the live hands-on day like at the Denver session?
The hands-on day runs 5 hours and is structured around medical microneedling as the primary supervised procedure. Each attendee performs at least one-half of a face of clinical-depth medical microneedling on a live patient under one-on-one MD supervision, with topical serum application, kit system selection, centrifugation technique, and bolus injection mapping are demonstrated on patients in real time. The accredited 7.75-hour online CME course is prerequisite and self-paced. We also discuss consent and patient selection intensively. Is spinning and injecting PRP required before I start practicing?
No. The rules for spinning and isolating PRP apply to every FDA-cleared PRP isolation kit on the market, and the online course reviews every kit option so you can select the system that fits your practice. The manufacturer of the kit you select will also provide device-specific training on purchase, which covers the mechanical workflow specific to their centrifuge and collection system. The injection technique for PRP itself does not require the dose precision that botulinum toxin demands or the depth precision that dermal filler demands. It is a straightforward bolus or microdroplet injection within the dermis and subcutaneous plane. Attendees who have already performed botulinum toxin or dermal filler injection, including those who take the morning Botox and Filler hands-on the same Denver weekend, consistently report feeling comfortable with PRP injection technique after the hotel-based session and the manufacturer onboarding that follows kit purchase. Will I spin and inject PRP during the Denver training?
No. PracticalCME’s hotel-based Denver site does not spin PRP on the training day. PRP is covered as treatment planning and bolus injection mapping in demonstration format: you will observe the MD plan and mark the injection sites on live patients and understand the kit selection, draw technique, and centrifugation protocol at a procedural level. Clinicians who want live PRP spin and injection as part of their hands-on practice can attend any PracticalCME clinical-site city (Boston, Houston, Orlando, DC, Charlotte, Cincinnati, West Palm Beach, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or NY) where the clinical infrastructure supports it. The PRP didactic online course and credit are identical across all cities.Who teaches the Denver session?
Dr. Gregory P. Zengo, MD, FACOG, Founder and Medical Director of PracticalCME, personally teaches every Denver session. Dr. Zengo is the author of the first ACCME-accredited aesthetic PRP and microneedling curriculum in the United States (2014), continuously revised through the present. 20 years of accredited CME authorship. Dr. Zengo also personally teaches every Atlanta, San Diego, Phoenix, and Seattle session. There is no rotating instructor roster for Denver, and no part of the live hands-on is delegated. How many hours of CME credit is the Denver PRP training?
12.75 total contact hours: 7.75 ACCME-accredited online CME hours plus a separate 5-hour Supervised Hands-On Certificate of Completion. Credit totals are identical at every PracticalCME city. Note that the PRP and Regenerative Aesthetics curriculum does not include nursing pharmacology hours; those are offered on the Botox and Dermal Filler training and can be stacked by attending both Denver sessions the same weekend.Does the Denver PRP course count for nursing pharmacology hours?
No. Platelet-rich plasma is an autologous biologic, not a pharmaceutical, so the regulatory framework (FDA 361 HCT/P) does not meet the ACCME definition for pharmacology credit. The PracticalCME Botox and Dermal Filler training does award 4.7 nursing pharmacology hours and can be scheduled the same Denver weekend for 23 total contact hours including the PRP Facelift integrated protocol. What is covered in the PRP curriculum at the Denver session?
The accredited online didactic covers the FDA 361 HCT/P regulatory framework for autologous PRP (minimal manipulation, same-day autologous use), 2024 CDC infection control updates for in-office injectable procedures, PRP blood draw and centrifugation technique with multiple kit systems, injection protocols for facial rejuvenation, androgenetic alopecia scalp protocols. The live Denver day reinforces this with real-time demonstration of planning and marking on patients. What is covered in the microneedling and adjunct curriculum?
Clinical-depth medical microneedling technique with and without PRP, device selection and depth settings, topical exosome application and sequencing with microneedling, red LED post-procedure protocol, and combination treatment planning with PRP, microneedling, and exosomes. The live Denver day includes hands-on medical microneedling on live patients as the primary supervised procedure. What supplies are included for the hands-on day?
Every Denver attendee uses an FDA-cleared microneedling pen and compatible treatment serums included in the tuition for the course. Can I bring my own patients for additional hands-on?
Yes. This is encouraged, or we can microneedle other class members superficially (minimal recovery) or a full medical depth treatment if desired. How are the hands-on patients recruited and consented?
Every hands-on patient at the Denver training is consented by Dr. Zengo as a PracticalCME patient. Attendees never pay the patient, never collect money from the patient, never sign a treatment agreement with the patient, and never carry individual liability for the hands-on treatment. The faculty MD is the treating physician on the record. PracticalCME does not use paid community models who charge the training company.Which licensed providers can register for the Denver training?
Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Physicians (MD and DO), and Dentists (DDS/DMD) where their legal scope of practice allows microneedling and aesthetic injection. The curriculum covers Colorado-specific delegation and supervising physician requirements in detail, including Colorado’s requirements for RN delegation under a physician standing order and NP independent practice authority after the transition-to-practice period. Completing a training course does not alter the legal scope of practice for the attendee’s licensure. Is a payment plan available for the Denver training?
Yes. Affirm financing is available at checkout, with rates as low as 0% APR for 6 months for qualified applicants. Longer repayment terms are available at standard APR. Tuition and the Affirm option are published on the product page. There is no sales call to find out the price and no scholarship application process. The accredited online course is accessible immediately upon purchase, and the Denver hands-on component can be scheduled at any available date within the two-year access window. Our blended dual-certification online + live training leads the industry.
