Our MINT thread lift training thoroughly instructs doctors on how to complete this procedure for their patients. During training, doctors will learn how to lift sagging cheeks, jaws, and eyebrows and improve marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and neck laxity.

MINT lift threads are excellent for facial rejuvenation procedures because they provide a contour and a lift to the skin without general anesthesia or surgery. A scar-free facial rejuvenation is an excellent reason to use threads. This simple outpatient procedure occurs right in the office and is frequently nicknamed the “one-hour” or “lunchtime” face-lift.

Results vary based on each person’s beginning state and desired results, but usually, results are immediately noticeable and can last for over a year. Even though your patients will notice changes immediately, the treated area will continue to tighten as the MINT lift thread dissolves and the body continues generating collagen.

What is a MINT lift thread?

MINT stands for Minimally invasive nonsurgical threads. They are lift threads, made from polydioxanone (PDO) and designed in South Korea, have many advantages over other threads. Their distinct design includes a more weighted gauge and patented cones or barbs that cause the thread to lift the skin. Your doctor will anchor the thread on the skin, which minimizes the look of floating created by other thread types. MINT threads promote collagen production in the treated areas and do not dissolve for about six to nine months. MINT threads, approved by the FDA in 2013, provide results superior to other threads due to their unique construction.

How MINT Thread Lifts Work

Minimally invasive nonsurgical thread lifts are far more straightforward than more traditional procedures used for facelifts. Your doctor will insert a very thin, biodegradable thread under your skin using a fine needle. There are either barbs or cones on the tiny threads that lift and tighten the skin from underneath and stimulate the body to encourage more collagen production. The procedure is typically completed in one to three hours depending on the area treated, and the patient will generally see results within a day.

Doctors must undergo thorough MINT thread lift training to perform these nonsurgical facelifts. The doctor should go over all of the information about the procedure with their patient during the initial consultation. At this time, the doctor can address any questions or concerns the patient has and discuss anesthesia options, the patient’s expectations for their results, and the procedures they will use to perform the thread lift.

The doctor performs the thread lift in-office. The procedure should take approximately one to three hours, depending on each patient’s needs. To limit potential bruising, patients should not take any blood-thinning products like aspirin, ginseng, or green tea within two weeks of the procedure.

The day after the procedure, the doctor should check in to see how the patient is feeling and answer any questions or concerns the person has. The doctor should continue to check in with their patient every few days. The treated areas on those who got the lift will most likely feel sore and appear swollen immediately after the thread lift. Tylenol typically alleviates this discomfort, but if pain persists or is too much, the patient should know to call their doctor.

Most patients typically return to normal activities within one or two days of the procedure. Although they will notice results right away, patients will continue to heal, and their bodies will continue to produce collagen, which stabilizes and improves results over time.

Who Can Get a Thread Lift?

Any person with light to moderate sagging skin around the neck and lower cheek areas of the face can get a MINT thread lift. This nonsurgical solution to sagging skin is less invasive than a traditional lift. It has less downtime and easy recovery, and it gets performed right in the office.

How to Ensure Best Results After the Lift

Patients must refrain from any strenuous activities immediately after the procedure and for the next few days as the swelling subsides. Provide small ice packs to help your patient with some of the swelling and discomfort, but advise them not to press down on the treated areas. Patients must be gentle with these areas for at least the first month after the lift when they are washing and not pull, stretch, or massage the lifted areas. Men must also be careful not to stretch or pull the skin while shaving.

Using Facial Products After the Lift

People may wear moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup following the thread lift. They must use caution, though, to not rub or pull hard on the face. Mild bruising may occur in the treated places; patients can cover this up with makeup. Makeup will not impact the results of the lift.

Risks or Side Effects Associated With Thread Lifts

There are minimal risks for thread lifts. Side effects patients can expect are light bruising, some swelling, and mild discomfort where treated. Tylenol and ice packs can alleviate these side effects for most.

Thread Breakages and Volume Loss

Thread breakages are rare, but trained doctors use enough threads during the procedure so that breakage will not cause volume loss in the area. If a thread breaks, it may feel like a pimple under the patient’s skin. A well-trained doctor can remove any troublesome MINT threads in-office if necessary.

Costs vary depending on the areas treated and how many threads it takes to achieve the patient’s desired results. Your doctor will review the exact price and other questions you may have at an initial consultation.

Who Performs the Procedure?

A doctor who has undergone extensive MINT thread lift training performs the procedure with the help of a medical assistant. Only an experienced, licensed professional should perform a thread lift procedure.

Thread Visibility Through the Skin

An experienced doctor will help ensure that the MINT threads are not visible through their patient’s skin. Occasionally, people with thin skin will have a “buckling” at the end of a thread that should resolve independently. If buckling threads cause irritation or discomfort, the doctor can remove them in the office as needed.

This nonsurgical facelift option is an excellent alternative to other types of facelifts. With this long-lasting thread lift, patients will only experience mild side effects and will be able to get back to their regular routines and work schedules quickly. Patients should have tighter, more vibrant skin as a result of these lifts. Call us today to begin your thread lift training.
