WARNING about other "Hands-On" Liposuction Courses
If you do not have a medical license for the state in which you will be training, you must ask the course director if they are obtaining a temporary medical license or temporary permit for you for the dates of your training. If you operate in a state without a valid medical license, you could face criminal charges and jail time in addition to whatever action the medical board in your home state takes.
Our Hands-On Liposuction Course offers hands-on training in one of the few states where it is LEGAL for a visiting physician to operate in a training course.
Participants will perform all aspects of actual liposuction cases in an actual physician's office setting. The course will apply all of the knowledge learned in our didactic course to show the participant how to fully care for the liposuction patient from the preoperative care and marking, through the performance of the procedure and the post-operative care.
These small-group classes are limited to no more than 4 doctors per session so the particpants can perform a significant part of the case.
Beware of hands-on courses with 10-12 participants and just one instructor.
The participant will learn and perform:
- Calculations of Tumescent Fluid Requirements
- Marking of the Patient
- Selection of Premedications
- Tumescent Infiltration
- Use of advanced technologies (Laser, Ultrasonic) in selected courses
- Performance of the suction phase of the case
- Endpoints of suction
- Post-operative care
- Instrument care and sterilization
- Safety considerations
Our Maryland site offers additional exposure to SmartLipo Laser and VASER Lipo. Our San Diego site offers additional exposure to VASER Lipo and Power-Assisted Lipo.
This course satisfies the hands-on proctoring requirement recommended by some organizations such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. This course is open only to MD and DO physicians with active medical licenses in any of the 50 states. Physicians taking the didactic course day on video must complete and pass the post-test prior to attending this day of the course.
Non-physicians and physicians with overseas licenses may observe the hands-on day at a discount. Email us at info@practicalcme.com for details.
